Do I need a web developer?
No, and that's the point. You sign in, type your dishes in, and hit save. Changing a price or marking something sold out takes about a minute, and it's live the moment you save it.
Can I use my own web address?
Yes. Point a domain you already own at your site and it works the same. You keep ownership of it - we only ask you to add one DNS record, and we never take control of your domain. If you haven't got one, you get a menuhosted.com address instead.
Do you type my menu in for me?
No - you do, and it's quicker than it sounds. Adding a dish is a name, a price and a description, and you can reorder anything by dragging it. If you get stuck partway through, email us and we'll help you get it finished.
What happens when the free trial ends?
If you subscribe, nothing changes. If you don't, your site stops being visible to the public after 14 days - but nothing is deleted, and subscribing brings it straight back exactly as you left it. We email you several times before and after that point, and we tell you plainly what happens next.
Do I have to give you a card to start?
No. The trial isn't a subscription, so there's nothing to cancel if you decide against it. It simply ends.
Can I cancel?
Any time, from your own account. Your site keeps running to the end of the month you've already paid for. We don't lock anyone into a contract - it's month to month.
Can I take my menu with me if I leave?
Yes. There's a button in your account that downloads everything - your whole menu as a spreadsheet, your settings, and every photo you uploaded, at full size. It's yours; we don't hold it hostage.
Can customers order or book a table through it?
Not directly - Menu Hosted is your menu, not an ordering or booking system. You can add your own links to DoorDash, Uber Eats, OpenTable, Resy or whatever you already use, and they show as buttons on your menu.
How do diners actually find my menu?
However you like. You get a QR code to print for the table or the window, a link to put on Google, Facebook or Instagram, and your own web address if you use one.
Can I show which dishes are gluten free, vegan, or contain nuts?
Yes, and diners can filter the menu by them. You control every label - we never guess, because only your kitchen knows what's in your food. Every menu also carries a short notice telling diners to check with staff about allergies.
I already have a website. Is this any use?
Often more use, not less. Plenty of restaurant websites have a menu stuck on as a PDF that nobody can read on a phone and nobody can update but the person who built it. Link your existing site to your Menu Hosted menu and you keep both.
What does it cost after the trial?
$79 a month per restaurant, month to month. The first 15 restaurants to subscribe pay $49 a month and keep that rate for as long as they stay subscribed.
